Procurement outsourcing set to soar
Demand for procurement outsourcing services is set to continue its growth as more companies opt for third party expertise, according to IT outsourcing giant Logica.
The company’s global head of finance and procurement services, Anil Kumar Daniel, said that the outsourcing of procurement operations was now growing faster than the outsourcing of traditional areas such as IT, finance, HR and accounting.
Mr Daniel said that the outsourcing of basic processes such as order processing allowed companies the time and flexibility to concentrate on other core business areas.
Logica currently employs 3,000 people in its Indian operations, which is its largest offshore centre.
