Moss Bros boss defends record on sourcing
A reluctance to utilise all its sourcing options has been blamed for a poor set of results from menswear retailer Moss Bros.
The company reported a pre-tax loss of £1.38m last week as sales slumped on the high street.
Family shareholders are reported to believe that the company has not been sufficiently active at exploiting overseas sourcing.
However, the company’s chief executive Philip Mountford, said that the company had increased its sourcing levels in east Asia by almost 50 per cent over the past 12 months.
Mountford said: “I’ve had one bad year and I’ve got a proven track record.”
