There is a time in everyone's life which can be described as a defining moment. For some it might be gaining a well-earned degree or being handed their first promotion - for others their wedding day or the birth of their first child.

Similarly, it is possible to pinpoint defining moments in the life of a product - or even an industry. Take the personal computer. Looking back with the benefit of hindsight, it is now obvious that the launch of the Windows operating system marked the beginnings of a revolution. It was the defining moment of the digital age - a time when many parts came together in unison to provide the platform upon which a new way of life - business and personal - could be launched. Similarly, when Google launched its now ubiquitous search engine in 1998, few would have predicted how defining a moment in the life of the internet that would become.
