Anheuser-Busch InBev rolls out global sourcing system
Tony Milikin, Anheuser-Busch InBev's chief procurement officer, said: "In building a truly global brewing company, a key focus on the operational side is ensuring the efficiency of our operations and the quality of our beers in every market. Of course, sourcing and procurement is a critical component in that regard.
"Having a truly scalable and global sourcing solution allows us to leverage global assets and scale, while maintaining local visibility and management. Advanced sourcing optimisation technology contributes to the best pricing, efficiency and quality and ensures that the products and services we procure meet our many and detailed requirements."
AB InBev has previously deployed the Emptoris Sourcing solutions as part of its corporate and Western European operations, and recently chose to expand its usage across all its global operations in 30 countries. The company also chose to upgrade to the latest Emptoris Sourcing release, which includes expanded sourcing optimisation capabilities. In addition, the brewing giant is susing the Emptoris Contract Management solution to manage its corporate agreements; and Emptoris Spend Analysis to analyse spending across its Western European operations.
Anheuser-Busch InBev, with annualised revenues of about $39bn, is one of the world's top five consumer product companies, with a portfolio of nearly 300 brands. The company has a presence in more than 30 countries worldwide in six operational zones including North America, Latin America North, Latin America South, Western Europe, Central & Eastern Europe, and Asia Pacific.
