Aviva adopts on-demand spend management
The British company will leverage Ariba's Spend Visibility, Sourcing, Contract Management and Supplier Performance Management systems - all of which in a software as a service model, meaning it will benefit from simpler upgrades lower operating expenditure because hardware investment is not needed.
However, the long-term costs of on-demand software is seen to be higher than on-premise.
"Aviva continues to be focused on finding ways in which it can lower operating costs while continuing to provide innovative services to clients worldwide," said Toby Redshaw, chief information officer, Aviva.
