Boeing to gain control of its supply chain
In an attempt to get more control over its troubled 787 Dreamliner production operation, Boeing is in negotiations to buy operations from one its main suppliers.
The company is close to announcing plans that it will buy a facility from Vought Aircraft Industries, a supplier which manufactures sections of the plane's fuselage, according to aerospace industry blog FlightBlogger.
The move would signal how much Boeing is having to adapt to get the production of the Dreamliner back on track - a process which has suffered from calamitous delays and cancelled orders.
