Borders supply chain chief steps-down
Leading UK bookseller, Borders, has announced that its head of supply chain, Geoff O’Neill, is to leave the business, as the company continues to revamp its supplier operations.
O’Neill, who had previously been responsible for supplier selection and reducing inventory, will hand over to the company’s former head of range, Pete Harvey, at the end of September.
Borders, who also owns the Books Etc. chain, announced in March that it planned to close down one of its major distribution centres, as it switched its supply methods to a mixture of direct via publishers and through wholesalers Gardners and EUK.
Harvey will now report to Peter Newbould, Borders’ head of buying and logistics.
