Accounting giant launches new code of conduct
KPMG is to launch a new supplier code of conduct aimed at ensuring the ethical and environmental credentials of its supplier base.
The new code, which sets out ten ethical principles covering areas such as business conduct and labour conditions, will apply to the company’s 6000 suppliers who between them handle almost £370m of procurement spend.
Mark Powderham, head of procurement at KPMG, said that the new code formed an integral part of the firm’s sustainable procurement strategy.
“KPMG has made huge progress in recent years with respect to embedding Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and diversity in all that we do within the firm,” he said.
“Bought-in goods and services are critical to the achievement of our CSR and diversity objectives and as such the logical next step is to integrate our suppliers and contractors within our approach.”
