Crimson & Co (Crimson), is a fast-growing supply chain and procurement consultancy with a strong reputation for developing and implementing end-to-end supply chain solutions all over the globe. The company draws on more than 120 years’ combined experience at board level, providing vast industry experience spanning supply chain strategy, planning and control, procurement, manufacturing and logistics.
Crimson assists companies in identifying their key business needs and designs their supply chains accordingly. It identifies performance weaknesses and prioritises improvements, preparing the ground for major IT implementations or acquisitions and driving longer-term continuous improvements. Sometimes these solutions might involve existing infrastructure, such as working with existing suppliers to drive improvements, while other solutions might include taking demand back to the fundamental requirements as the basis for a category wide strategic sourcing programme. The over-riding need, however, is always to look at the supply chain as an end-to-end entity, even when the focus for change is in one specific area.
The key to operations is that supply chains are designed to meet individual customer requirements at a cost that is acceptable to the supplier. Crimson takes an integrated approach to assignments, ensuring that the optimal supply chain is developed and supported by an appropriate framework of planning and control, and for many organisations several supply chains are necessary.
Different customers and different products require different levels of service and responsiveness and companies must meet all these needs. At the extremes, a supply chain can either be efficient (low cost), or responsive (excess or more expensive capacity), in reality however, the optimal supply chain for most organisations is somewhere in between.
By aligning operations with corporate strategy and driving step-change improvements Crimson is successfully operating on all continents, and in over 20 countries. It has developed Procurement solutions and global category strategies for cosmetics manufacturers in Europe, Asia, Africa and the USA; Delivered supply chain assessments for British American Tobacco in South and Central America, Africa, the Far East and Europe; and has recently completed projects in other countries such as Russia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Brazil, Kenya and South Africa, to name but a few.
