Emptoris to acquire Click Commerce
Supply and contract management software company Emptoris has announced the acquisition of the contract and service management solutions and business from Click Commerce.
According to Emptoris, the deal means it is now the only suite provider in the global services management arena, while it also grows its roster of global 2,000 clients. "This acquisition clearly extends our value to our customers, many of whom have been struggling with complex services procurement," said Avner Schneur, president and CEO of Emptoris.
Emptoris insisted that it will continue to support and invest in Click Commerce solutions.
The acquisition will allow Emptoris to tap into what commentators believe could be an extremely lucrative sector - services spend. This includes areas such as contingent labour, management consulting, IT outsourcing and services procurement. "These are areas where ERP providers and point-solutions don't go the extra mile - and don't have global capabilities or experience," said Kevin Potts, vice president of product management with Emptoris.
